Shark Designs Privacy Practices

Shark Designs take your privacy very seriously and have compiled this statement of our privacy practices for your information.


Our website uses cookies for the purposes of storing a customer’s shopping basket. Cookies may be disabled in the customer’s web browser, although this may affect the usability of this web site, especially the Online Shop.

Shark Designs is committed to protecting the privacy of all its clients.   The only personal information collected by Shark Designs is for the purposes of purchasing items from our Online Store, for sending confirmation details to you via our website or when subscribing to the Shark Designs mailing list.  We ONLY use the information collected from you to process orders and to provide and improve your personal shopping experience. Our mailing list requires all customers to provide an email address to receive regular updates.

Your name, Billing/Delivery address, Payment details allow us to process your order and allows you to monitor your orders statues.

Once a payment has been made and processed, either on line or through the Pay Pal Virtual Terminal (i.e. via a phone line order), Shark Designs does not keep, or store, any of your Credit Card or other financial details.  All such financial information and details are completely destroyed and removed from our records.

Your telephone number and e-mail address are collected solely to enable us to contact you if there is an urgent problem with your order. Occasionally our couriers may be given your telephone number in an effort to resolve delivery problems. Your e-mail address is only used for non-urgent communications or in cases where telecommunications have failed for whatever reason.

By using our web site, you accept the collection and use of this information by Shark Designs. Should we decide to change our policy on privacy we will post a notice of changes upon this page so that you are always aware of what information we will collect and how it will be used and under what circumstances we will decide to disclose it.

Shark Designs does not sell trade or rent your personal information to others.

Unsubscribing is under your complete control in respect of the mailing list; you will be sent details of how to unsubscribe when initially subscribing.

Any personal information collected from you will NEVER be disclosed to any third party, except in the case of cooperating with law enforcement agencies to aid in identifying those persons using our services for illegal activities. Information may be given even without a subpoena or court order if we believe such illegal activity is being conducted through our services.

E-Commerce Gateway

To further ensure your experience while shopping at the Shark Designs; Bushcraft, Fire & Steel is both safe and secure, our e-commerce provider is Pay Pal (www.paypal.co.uk).

Credit card processing facilities are also organised through Pay Pal.  By using this facility your credit card details are not processed through our site and are dealt with by using the Pay Pal secure servers. Our securities procedures mean that we may, on occasion, request proof of identity before processing your order or before we are able to disclose sensitive information.

Shark Designs does not store credit card details on their servers.

All purchases are encrypted using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) standard, so your communication between our website and our payment gateway are secure.

Unsolicited Commercial Mailings (UCE)

Unsolicited Commercial Mailings, otherwise known as "Spam" are not welcomed; they waste Shark Designs time and resources. To this end, we will report all such mailings to the blacklisting organizations, and this will involve forwarding a copy of such emails to the relevant blacklisting organization, e.g. SpamCop.net, and to the originating ISP (Internet Service Provider) from which the message originated, so that action is taken against the sender e.g. cessation of email services to that user.
